Goodbye, Pluto

The IAU declared that Pluto is no longer a planet. In fact, they stripped it of planetary status. I have this mental image of a full dressing down ala George Banks in Mary Poppins, hat punched out and all... Basically, they re-affirmed the definition of planet in a way that rules out Pluto.
This isn't as cool as the story I'm telling: Pluto was destroyed when it colided with planet X.
I mean, planet IX.

You must be dating yourself, cause I've never heard of "Branded".
Bye Pulto I miss you I hope you return
bye bye Pulto
It's funny, my brother and I were again just talking about this topic. Ever since Pluto lost it's planetary status, I've been upset. However, Chris pointed out the key fact that cinches it for me: Pluto joined our system after its formation. So, Scientists, FTW. Sorry, Pluto.

The dressing down I have in mind is of Chuck Conners at the beginning of the old TV show, "Branded."
