With apologies to Catholics everywhere... Is it just me, or does Pope Benedict XVI look an awful lot like Emperor Palpatine? For me, it's the sunken eyes that cinch it.

Sincerely, no disrespect meant at all. Maybe the guy needs some Cleansing Raspberry Scrub?

I'm not looking to be offended here, but I kinda am. Half my family is Catholic and I used to be, so this kind of strikes a chord. I don't know. The Pope's recent visit was so historical, brought healing and promoted peace - I guess it's just not a joke to me. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm just being sensitive. He's a good man. Can't help the way he looks.
Would it have been better to make a post about "Emperor Benedict?" so the fictional character was the focus?
I don't think comparing the Pope's looks to the Emperor is a statement about his character.
He can't help how he looks weather or not he is a good man or bad man. Looking funny isn't bad. A big guy like the Pope should be able to take some teasing.
I agree with you about his recent visit.
