I put up a vanity domain name with my resume: phillipharrington.com. It's got my resume, as well as a nifty contact form and a recommendation form. If you recommend me to someone who gives me work, I'll take you to lunch on me!
Right now, not I'm not actively looking. I'm considering a few offers. I put the site up for the sake of having it, and using it like a fly trap to see what I can catch. I would like sincere feedback on my resume though. Also, any other features I might add? PDF version?
Secret Excuse

After some soul searching, I believe I have several secret excuses. Here is one I unearthed recently: "I don't deserve it." This secret excuse says to me, "I don't deserve success, fortune, love, attention," etc.
I think this idea stems from my Dad not being around when I was a kid and the low state of my childhood (what I judge low due to primariliy external factors). I thought, "my life would be better, but I don't deserve it; my dad is not around because I don't deserve it; we're not rich because I don't deserve it," etc.
My dad reads this blog. I'm not trying to brow beat him on here. I'm just stating the facts. I'm also realizing that the facts matter because they have shaped what I think and feel about myself. I want to clear the air on that one and say to him, no apologies needed. The past is what it was.
I've also learned that secret excuses are not uncommon excuses. Everyone has similar thoughts and feelings. What are your secret excuses? Where do they come from? Are they true?
For me, this one is not true. It's taken me a long time to figure that out.
Laugh Lines
I realized while looking in the mirror today that I have laugh lines around my eyes. Which isn't suprising since I'm hillarious (and I get all my own jokes).Congratulations!

I'll Be Twenty Nine Soon!
Twenty Nine! Can you believe it? In just a few short weeks, I'll turn twenty nine! Wow! Almost thirty!
OK, you jerks, you're right! I'm really actually turning thirty this time around. But you can make up for pointing out that fact by shopping for me (or anyone) from my freshly updated wish list at Amazon. (Buy the used stuff, it's cheaper.) WoOt!
In case you're wondering, yes, "Phil Days" are early this year. They come earlier and earlier every year, don't-cha get it?
