Valentine's Day Trip

I'm flying to Virginia to visit Michelle for Valentine's Day. It's our second Valentine's Day together, and I wouldn't miss it. Hopefully the weather is conducive to flying.
While I'm up there, we're going to stay at her place for a couple of nights, but also spend a couple of nights at a place up in Historic Williamsburg. It's a condo type arrangement with a tiny kitchenette. It looks like it will be really nice.
I miss Michelle a ton. We talk most every day. Sometimes we just say hello, miss you, and briefly catch up on each other's day. Other times we have long conversations. We almost always banter, of course. Long distance relationships are not easy, but Michelle and I are doing well, I think, considering...
Hope you have a great Valentine's Day with someone you love. What are your plans? Flowers? Chocolates? A romantic rendezvous? Affair?!

Michelle and I took a trip to New Orleans over the weekend. A friend of her's was getting married up in Covington, and we had decided to drive and make it a road trip! So, why not make a mini-vacation out of it and see something new?
Answer: no good reason.
We left at O-Dark-Thirty Friday morning and got into New Orleans around 6 that evening. We had time that night to see some sights. Saturday we did more exploring in the morning and afternoon. That night was the wedding and reception. Sunday we slept in and then headed back. We made it home early Monday morning.

Yesterday was a year since Michelle and I met. We had a nice dinner date to mark the occasion.
Today is my young friend J.D.'s birthday. Happy Birthday, buddy!
Perfectly Horrible Mistakes

Michelle and I kid a lot. We have that kind of "I'm joking but I'm not" way of saying things to each other that makes it easy to say the real things. If I can call her a bitch and she can say I'm a fat asshole, and we can still smile at each other, the thing that needs to be said is easier to get out.
But earlier, we just "jokingly" broke-up - like in a mock-anger way. Then I thought about it and got sad and thoughtful. I'm going to hug her and be sweet a lot for a while. OK, honey?
"That is my principal objection to life, I think: It's too easy, when alive, to make perfectly horrible mistakes."

Michelle has a Friskies cat food box on wheels. It's basically a rubber-made type box with a locking lid and casters for easy rolling. We brought it over from her old place and cleaned it out this week. After it had been on the balcony drying, I brought it into the house.
My cat, The Casey, wanted to investigate. He started sniffing the box as soon as it was inside. He even tried to jump it, but it started to tip over, so he backed off. Ever the helpful pet owner, I picked him up and put him in. I even petted him a few times so he would get comfortable. He seemed happy.
I was happy because the instant he got comfortable, I started wheeling him all over the apartment, making car noises.
Now the cats won't go near the box.
